Astana International Airport enhances security control
Considering tragic events having occurred in recent years in some foreign countries, Astana International Airport enhances aviation security.
From 14 November, 2015, technical screening equipment was installed in Astana Airport at passenger terminal entrance. All passengers, airport personnel and also seeing off and meeting persons are exposed to manual inspection. Inspection is conducted within 24 hours.
In this regard, the Management of Astana International Airport recommends to passengers to arrive to the airport no later than 3 hours prior to departure of international flights, and 2 hours prior to departure of domestic flights. Further be advised that explosives, compressed and liquefied gases, flammable liquids, all types of firearms, sharp objects are not accepted for carriage as baggage for aviation security. Besides, liquids, aerosols, gels and cream can be transported in hand luggage in containers no more than 100 ml. Medicines, baby food in the quantity necessary for the period of flight are allowed for transportation.
Daily Astana airport handles up to 12 000 passengers under 38 routes. These passengers’ safety measures are carried out in strict accordance with requirements of national legislation and international standards of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
