Airport Astana carries out training, themed: «Consolidating cargo and mail (ULD)»
In the period from March 17 to 20, 2015, International Airport Astana hosted a training for Cargo Transportations Service, conducted by Lufthansa, themed: «Consolidating cargo and mail (ULD)». The training has been attended by 12 employees of the Cargo Terminal. In the workshop, the specialists discussed the issues of making up cargo and mail. The goal of the event is to raise qualification of Cargo Terminal specialists in using means of cargo palletizing. With the example of Astana airport, the instructor familiarized the participant of the workshop with requirements for equipment and infrastructure of the cargo terminal, conducted a survey of normative-regulatory base, and analyzed specific operational recommendations and requirements for using means of cargo palletizing, compliant with certain types of aircrafts. Besides, during the workshop, the participants have reviewed the frameworks for using means of palletizing cargo, doing paperwork, sending and accepting cargo, handling dangerous goods.
After completion of the training, the participants have been tested. The trainees have received certificates with 2 year validity.
In 2014, the airport has processed 9 653 tons of cargo, that is for 16 % more, compared to 2013. The main part of cargo was equipment, spare parts, textile and pharmaceuticals.
Raising qualification of personnel in the Astana International Airport is one of the priority directions for developing air harbor of the capital, directly related with providing flight safety and airport services.
